Festivals For Every Musical Taste


No matter what kind of music you enjoy, Kaslo and the Kootenay Lake area has it! And not just music festivals, but concerts indoors and out, and scheduled and impromptu music at cafes, restaurants, pubs and parks. We boast an incredible number of local musicians and the music scene attracts musicians from all over to this beautiful location.

Balfour Daze

July 5 kicks off the festival season with Balfour Daze, about 30 minutes south of Wing Creek Resort. Lots of free music plus food and artisan vendors and a beer garden. More info.

Starbelly Jam

July 18-20 the East Shore of Kootenay Lake is the scene for music, circus acts, local food and artisan vendors. This year performers at this Crawford Bay festival include Moontricks, Frazey Ford and The Sadies. Just a free ferry ride away from Wing Creek Resort. More info.

Shambhala

July 25-28 this electronic music festival on the East Shore attracts thousands. Read up about it before you decide to go. It is sold out for 2025 but there is a wait list. More info.

Kaslo Jazz Etc. Summer Festival

This is the place to be for the August long weekend! Aug 1-3 you can enjoy jazz, blues, and bluegrass music from multiple stages, including the main stage which floats on the shore of Kootenay Lake. Musicians from all over the world have played this stage and are both humbled and amazed by their spectacular backdrop of Kootenay Lake and the Purcell Mountains. This popular, long-running event offers a wide range of food and artisan vendors and a cool vibe that is unparalleled anywhere. It is just five minutes south of Wing Creek Resort. More info and tix.

Nelson International Mural Festival

Aug 8-10 draws our local festival season to a close in Nelson, just one hour south of Wing Creek Resort. This free celebration of creativity and music lets you watch as muralists perform feats of magic by transforming blank walls into incredible works of art. More info.
